Philippines

Here you will learn everything you need to know about the drone laws in the Philippines.

Overview:

Keep 10 km distance to airfields

Flying is only allowed up to 120 m high

Keep 30 m away from other people

Only fly during the day

There must always be visual line of sight to the drone

Drones over 7 kg must be registered

In detail:

All drones over 7 kg and commercially used must be registered. However, this registration is not easy. You need four different certificates. These certificates are obtained by passing several tests, both theoretical and practical. The registration is then valid for 3-5 years. Details on registration can be found on the CAAP website. The rules concerning the required distance to persons are not uniform. On some websites 30 m is required, on the official video to the drone rules of the CCAP the groups of persons are defined more exactly and there is only talk of children, older people and pregnant women. To be on the safe side, the minimum distance should always be 30 metres. It is also forbidden to fly over schools or marketplaces and of course military installations.

Exceptions:

For planned night flights, a permit must be applied for from the CAAP. A registration of the drone is required.
