Australia

Here you will learn everything you need to know about the drone laws in Germany.

Overview:

Keep 5.5 km distance to airfields and heliports

Every drone must be registered

It is only allowed to fly up to 120 m high

Do not fly in the vicinity of police or rescue operations

There must always be visual line of sight to the drone

Keep a distance of 30 m and don't fly over other people

Fly only during the day and not during heavy fog or rain

Do not fly over densely populated areas

An online test is necessary to fly a drone

In Detail:

It’s your duty to register your drone. A registration costs depending on the use a different fee and can be made by anyone from 16 and up. If you want to fly a drone, you must also complete an online test, which can be repeated indefinitely in case you fail. The test and the registration both take place via the same website. If you fly outside an airfield and still see an airplane, the drone must be landed immediately. In national parks you have to inquire about further rules, this also applies to other no-fly zones. Most of these zones are marked in official apps. If you want to use your drone commercially, additional tests are necessary.

The CASA flyer is very helpful for a further overview.

Exceptions:

If you want to fly near a small airfield that does not have a control tower, you can launch the drone despite the flight ban – provided there is no aircraft in the sky. If there is a control tower, the responsible persons must be informed about the flight beforehand.
